About the Role
 
We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join one of our UK-based clients on a long-term engagement. In this role, you will contribute to the design, development, enhancement, and maintenance of business-critical software solutions while collaborating with a skilled engineering team. This opportunity is ideal for an experienced software engineer who enjoys solving complex technical problems, writing high-quality code, and delivering reliable applications. You'll work across modern Microsoft technologies while also supporting existing platforms and data solutions where required.
The role offers the opportunity to work with technologies including C#/.NET, SQL Server, Azure, BigQuery, and Delphi, contributing to the ongoing evolution and improvement of enterprise software systems.

Responsibilities
Design, develop, enhance, and maintain high-quality software applications using modern engineering practices. Develop scalable, secure, and maintainable solutions using C#/.NET technologies. Build, optimise, and maintain SQL Server databases, queries, and stored procedures. Contribute to the enhancement and maintenance of existing applications, including systems built using Delphi where applicable. Work with cloud-based services and data platforms, including Azure and BigQuery. Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve technical issues across applications and databases. Participate in code reviews and contribute to maintaining high standards of code quality. Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to understand requirements and deliver effective technical solutions. Support continuous improvement initiatives by identifying opportunities to enhance application performance, reliability, and maintainability. Contribute throughout the software development lifecycle, from development through deployment and ongoing support.

Requirements
7+ years of professional experience working with C#/.NET. 5+ years of experience working with SQL Server. 3+ years of experience with Delphi. 2+ years of experience with BigQuery. 2+ years of experience with Microsoft Azure. Strong software engineering fundamentals and experience building production applications. Ability to write clean, maintainable, and well-structured code. Experience working collaboratively within an engineering team. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
