A taste of what you’ll do 
The Manager of Site Reliability Engineering is responsible for the availability, performance, and operational integrity of Immense Studio's game platform and production infrastructure. This role bridges engineering and operations. It ensures that the systems underpinning our game portfolio are reliable, scalable, and observable, and that the team has the tooling, processes, and culture to keep them that way. Working closely with backend engineers, game developers, QA, and third-party partners, the SRE Manager drives a continuous improvement mindset across platform reliability, deployment practices, and incident management.

Platform reliability and operations

• Own the reliability, availability, and performance of Immense Studio's game platform across all environments — development, staging, and production.
• Establish and monitor service level objectives (SLOs) and key reliability metrics, using data to drive prioritization of reliability improvements and infrastructure investment.
• Maintain rigorous oversight of platform health through proactive log analysis, database monitoring, and environment management — identifying and resolving issues before they impact players or partners.
• Lead incident response for platform and production issues, ensuring swift triage, clear communication, and thorough post-incident review to prevent recurrence.

Infrastructure and deployment

• Own and evolve the studio's CI/CD pipelines and deployment automation, enabling fast, reliable, and repeatable game and platform releases.
• Drive the adoption of infrastructure-as-code practices to ensure environments are reproducible, version-controlled, and consistently configured across all stages.
• Manage integrations with casino operators, aggregation platforms, and third-party Remote Game Servers (RGS), ensuring stable and well-monitored connectivity at all times.
• Plan and execute platform upgrades and framework improvements that enhance testability, scalability, and compatibility with new game features.

Team leadership and resource planning

• Lead, develop, and grow the SRE function within Immense Studio, including recruitment, onboarding, performance management, and day-to-day team coordination.
• Conduct resource planning to ensure the team has the capacity and skills to meet studio delivery goals and maintain operational standards.
• Act as a technical escalation point and coach for engineers, supporting them in diagnosing complex platform issues and approaching new challenges effectively.

Collaboration and stakeholder management

• Work closely with backend developers, game engineers, QA, and the mathematics team to align infrastructure capabilities with production requirements and release schedules.
• Engage with external game partners, casino operators, and third-party technology providers on integration, support, and technical planning matters.
• Communicate platform status, risks, and roadmap to internal stakeholders clearly and proactively.

Who and what we are after? 

• Degree in Computer Science, Systems Engineering, or a related discipline; or equivalent professional experience.
• Strong proficiency in Python and solid working knowledge of PostgreSQL and relational database management.
• Experience designing and operating CI/CD pipelines and deployment automation tooling.
• Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to develop people and build a high-performing technical function.
  
• Excellent communication skills in English, written and verbal; comfortable engaging with both technical teams and external partners.
• Solid understanding of networking fundamentals, system observability, and monitoring best practices.
• Hands-on experience with Linux-based infrastructure, containerisation (Docker, Kubernetes), and cloud-based environments.
• Proven experience in a Site Reliability Engineering, DevOps, or Platform Engineering role, with at least some leadership or management responsibility.

Nice to have

• Experience within an iGaming platform or game studio environment, with familiarity of game engine hosting, RGS integrations, or casino wallet connectivity.· Exposure to SLO/SLA frameworks and reliability engineering methodologies.
  
• Experience managing third-party technical integrations and partner relationships.
• Knowledge of infrastructure-as-code tools (Terraform, Ansible, or equivalent).
