We’re looking for a motivated, self-directed content specialist to build a comprehensive help system for an established legal accounting product. This role will take a product with limited existing instructional content and transform it into a well-organized, user-friendly knowledge base that helps customers confidently understand and use the software. This role requires someone who can take ownership of a large, evolving body of work, establish priorities and goals, and make steady progress with limited day-to-day direction.
Responsibilities will include:
- Develop and maintain a deep understanding of Actionstep’s Legal Accounting product and services in order to translate complex product information into simple, polished, and engaging content.
- Write user-friendly articles that meet the needs of the target audience, turning insights into language that sets our users up for success.
- Support and maintain in-app communications with the product
- Partner with internal departments including Product, Support, Customer Team, Development, and UX in order to document software workflows correctly and succinctly.
- Coordinate work with other writers, Support team members.
- Lead regular meetings with product managers, provide status updates, and drive accountability.
- Adhere to a strict release schedule while meeting aggressive deadlines.
- Assist with the overall help center strategy and content management discussions and vision.
- Adhere to documentation style guides (internal + Microsoft Style) and, when appropriate, make recommendations on how to improve standards.
