About Us
We are on a mission to make looking after your home effortless, and to clean up an industry that has too often left its workforce in the shadows. Batgroup is the company behind Batmaid, our English-speaking brand, and PFA / Putzfrau.ch, our German-speaking brand: a portfolio spanning direct cleaning, recruitment, and fiduciary services that has made us Switzerland's number one home cleaning company, with more than 4,000 cleaning professionals and a growing footprint across Europe.
Our purpose goes beyond business. It is about people. Every cleaner who works with us deserves declared, insured, and properly protected employment, on permanent contracts governed by the sector's Collective Bargaining Agreement, with real access to pensions, sickness cover, and paid leave. By taking on the multi-billion-franc cleaning black market, we level the playing field, bring fairness to a sector that badly needs it, and give customers professionals they can genuinely trust in their homes. That is our fight, and it is why we rally behind #fightblackmarket.
Technology is how we win it. We build the platforms, apps, and services that let thousands of customers book a trusted cleaning in a few clicks, and that let thousands of cleaners work with dignity and security. That is where you come in.
The Role
We are looking for a skilled DevOps Engineer to join our engineering team in Warsaw (hybrid/remote) and help manage, design, and scale the AWS-based infrastructure supporting Batmaid and PFA. You will build automations and tooling that make our engineering teams more effective, drive improvements across our CI/CD pipelines, and ensure high availability, security, and performance across all environments.
AI-assisted development is simply part of how we work. The team uses modern AI tooling, including a company-provided Claude Code subscription, to move faster through routine tasks, freeing up time and attention for what actually matters: solid architecture, sound problem-solving, and reliable infrastructure. We are pragmatic about it: we reach for these tools where they genuinely add value, and we keep human judgement firmly in charge.
What you will do
- Maintain and manage our AWS-based infrastructure.
- Design, maintain, and extend robust CI/CD pipelines.
- Build automations and tooling that make engineering teams more productive.
- Monitor and optimize the performance, availability, and security of our environments.
- Drive continuous improvements across our cloud security posture, deployment processes, and system scalability.
Requirements
What we are looking for
- 4+ years of hands-on DevOps experience.
- Commercial experience with Kubernetes, ideally EKS.
- Solid experience with AWS (or another major cloud provider with a strong willingness to master AWS).
- Proven track record with CI/CD automation, specifically GitHub Actions or similar tools.
- Observability expertise, working with the ELK Stack or similar tracing and logging solutions.
- Cloud security and compliance mindset, with a strong focus on secure architecture.
- Code & script literacy: ability to read, understand, and debug existing application code and configurations.
- Problem-solving drive: ability to break down complex technical issues and deliver simple, clean, and maintainable solutions.
Nice to have
- Previous commercial experience as a Software Developer.
- Familiarity with TeamCity, Helm, and/or Terragrunt.
- Familiarity with OpenTelemetry, Grafana, or Prometheus.
- Experience with message queues (RabbitMQ, AWS SQS/SNS).
- Experience with Fastlane for mobile app (iOS/Android) automation.
- Basic working knowledge of PHP, JavaScript/TypeScript, or Python.
How you work
- You communicate clearly: able to advise both technical and non-technical team members with ease.
- You lead by influence and example, helping to level up the engineers around you.
- You are adaptable and curious: quick to pick up new tools, paradigms, and emerging technologies.
- You take ownership: dedicated to solving root causes and upholding high standards of quality and reliability.
- Fluent English (B2 or higher), as it is our primary working language.
Benefits
- Room to grow, professionally and personally. Our platform is full of real engineering challenges, the company continues to grow, and there is space to grow with it.
- Remote-friendly working with flexible hours (core hours during the day, CET).
- Claude Code subscription and access to modern AI tooling.
- A mature SDLC working alongside an experienced team of developers and QA engineers (continuous integration, code/solution reviews, automated testing).
- A bright, modern office in the heart of Warsaw, a short walk from the metro (office access also available on request in Lisbon and Lausanne).
- A VIP private healthcare package.
- Multisport membership.
- Regular team events in Warsaw to enjoy your colleague community.
- The best tools for the job, including hardware and software setups tailored to your needs.
Sounds like you?
If you want to build infrastructure that genuinely improves people's working lives, while keeping good company with a team that cares about its craft, we would love to hear from you.
