About the role
We’re looking for a seasoned Controller to own and lead a full books clean-up for a growing multi-location, multi-entity, clinic-based mental healthcare business in the US. Reporting directly to the CFO, you’ll set the accounting methodology, make the judgment calls and deliver close-ready books with documented, repeatable processes.
What you’ll do
- Lead the clean-up end to end: Define the plan, priorities and timeline, and act as the CFO’s go-to partner on accounting matters.
- Revenue cycle & ASC 606: Set the revenue recognition policy for contractual allowances, denials and patient responsibility, and own the reconciliation of billing and EHR data to the GL.
- AR clean-up: Design a supportable AR reserve methodology and lead the rebuild and reconciliation of AR by entity, location and payer, including unapplied cash.
- AP & accruals: Establish cutoff and month-end accrual policies and oversee the AP subledger clean-up and vendor reconciliations.
- Payroll: Define accrual methodology for payroll, benefits, bonuses and provider compensation, and ensure it reconciles to the GL.
- ASC 842 leases: Lead the lease inventory and build maintainable ROU asset and lease liability schedules.
- Inventory & GL review: Correct medical supply inventory accounting, sign off on balance sheet reconciliations and review the P&L.
- Intercompany & consolidations: Own intercompany accounting and the consolidation process across all entities.
- Processes & controls: Document processes and internal controls so the close is repeatable and audit-ready.

- 8+ years of accounting experience, including 3+ years in a Controller or Assistant Controller role
- Healthcare industry experience in multi-site or clinic-based organizations (must)
