We are looking for a SAP IS-U Billing Functional Consultant with solid hands-on experience configuring and supporting SAP IS-U Billing solutions within the Utilities industry.

This role combines functional configuration, functional consulting, and production support, with a strong focus on critical Billing processes across the Meter-to-Cash lifecycle.

The ideal candidate goes beyond general SAP IS-U knowledge and has direct experience configuring Billing functionality, investigating production incidents and billing exceptions, performing root cause analysis, and coordinating functional solutions with business and technical teams.

You will collaborate with business stakeholders, developers, and cross-functional SAP IS-U teams to deliver enhancements while ensuring the stability and efficient operation of business-critical billing processes.

Requirements

Key Responsibilities

• Configure, support, and enhance SAP IS-U Billing functionality according to evolving business requirements.
• Work hands-on with Rates, Operands, Billing Schemas, Bill Corrections, Budget Billing, Invoicing, and Bill Print.
• Analyze and resolve production incidents affecting SAP IS-U Billing processes.
• Investigate billing exceptions and perform Root Cause Analysis (RCA) to identify configuration, data, integration, or process-related issues.
• Support service requests, defect resolution, and minor system enhancements within production and managed-services environments.
• Participate throughout the enhancement lifecycle, including requirements gathering, documentation, testing, training, and deployment.
• Gather, document, and analyze functional and business requirements with users and stakeholders.
• Develop Functional Specifications and coordinate with technical teams and developers to deliver solutions.
• Assess functional impacts and dependencies across Billing, FI-CA, Customer Service, Device Management, and other related SAP IS-U processes.
• Execute and support testing activities for releases, upgrades, enhancements, and production deployments.
• Maintain functional documentation, process flows, and user guides.
• Support data integrity, reporting, and compliance initiatives across SAP environments.
• Follow established service-level agreements (SLAs) and operational support procedures.
• Participate in on-call support rotations when required by the project.
• Stay current with SAP Utilities updates, best practices, and emerging technologies.

• 3–5 years of functional experience specifically with SAP IS-U Billing.
• Strong hands-on SAP IS-U Billing configuration experience, rather than general exposure to SAP IS-U or ticket-based support only.
• Practical experience with several of the following:
• Rates & Operands
• Billing Schemas
• Bill Corrections
• Budget Billing
• Invoicing
• Bill Print
• Experience analyzing billing exceptions and troubleshooting billing-related issues.
• Experience supporting production environments and resolving functional incidents.
• Ability to perform Root Cause Analysis and identify whether an issue originates from configuration, data, integration, or business processes.
• Strong understanding of Utility Meter-to-Cash business processes.
• Ability to understand dependencies and impacts between Billing and other SAP IS-U areas, particularly FI-CA, Customer Service, and Device Management.
• Strong requirements-gathering and functional-documentation skills.
• Experience developing functional specifications and collaborating with technical/development teams.
• Strong client-facing communication skills and the ability to work with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Advanced English proficiency (C1) required, with the ability to communicate effectively in meetings and collaborate with international clients and teams.
• Availability to work remotely from LATAM.

Preferred Qualifications

• Functional knowledge of SAP FI-CA.
• Exposure to SAP Device Management.
• Experience with SAP S/4HANA Utilities / S/4 Utilities.
• Previous experience working in AMS / Managed Services environments.
• Experience using Jira for ticket and incident management.
• Previous experience within the Utilities industry.
