Fullstack Software Engineer
Diagrid · Full-time · Posted 4d ago
We believe that open-source software, open standards and APIs are the greatest transformational tools for organizations in the modern software development era.
Our mission at Diagrid is to provide developers with APIs and tools that help them focus on their code and not on infrastructure. As online digital services need to handle more load and run on multiple clouds or on-premises environments, programming to higher level abstractions delivers consistent, secure and reliable code that is easily portable and helps organizations de-risk their projects.
Diagrid is founded by the creators of the Dapr and KEDA open-source projects, and who led the user experience, design and development of hyper-scale infrastructure cloud services, serverless platforms and open-source projects at Microsoft. Dapr has now achieved graduated status within the CNCF, joining renowned projects like Kubernetes, Prometheus, and Istio.
We are backed by top VC firms and supported with industry leading investors and advisors including Joe Beda (Kubernetes Co-Founder, former Co-Founder / CTO at Heptio) Matt Klein (Creator of Envoy, Lyft), Mark Russinovich (CTO, Microsoft Azure), William Morgan (Creator of Linkerd, CEO Buoyant), Seth Vargo (Senior Staff Engineer, Google), Adam Gross (Former CEO, Heroku), Sri Viswanath (Former CTO, Atlassian), Adam Frankl (Dev Marketing Expert, Neo4J & JFrog), and Roopak Venkatakrishnan (Head of platforms, Bolt).
At Diagrid, we're building the infrastructure that helps developers build, deploy, and operate reliable, secure, and scalable applications.
Built on the foundation of Dapr, the CNCF-graduated open-source project, Diagrid is helping engineering teams simplify the complexity of distributed systems. As AI transforms how software is built and operated, we're extending that mission to help developers take AI agents from experimentation to production with confidence.
We're a globally distributed team of engineers and builders who care deeply about solving complex technical problems, contributing to open source, and creating products developers love.
We're looking for a talented Fullstack Engineer with strong Node.js and TypeScript experience to join our growing AI & DevEx team, led by Casper Nielsen.
You'll help build the next generation of Diagrid's AI infrastructure and developer tools, working across backend services, APIs, and user-facing applications.
This is a hands-on engineering role for someone who enjoys building products end-to-end, solving complex technical challenges, and working in a fast-moving startup environment.
You'll work closely with engineering and product leadership to turn ideas into production-ready capabilities, with a focus on performance, reliability, scalability, and developer experience.
Build end-to-end product features: Design, develop, and maintain fullstack applications using TypeScript, Node.js, and modern frontend frameworks.
Develop scalable backend services: Build APIs, integrations, and services that power Diagrid's AI infrastructure and developer-facing products.
Work on AI infrastructure: Help develop the tools and services that enable developers to build, deploy, manage, and operate AI agents reliably in production.
Own features from concept to production: Participate in technical design, implementation, testing, deployment, and ongoing improvements.
Create great developer experiences: Build intuitive interfaces, APIs, and workflows that make complex distributed systems easier to use.
Collaborate across teams: Work closely with AI, platform, product, and engineering teams to solve technical challenges and deliver customer value.
Champion engineering quality: Write clean, maintainable, well-tested code, contribute to architectural decisions, and continuously improve engineering practices.
Solve challenging technical problems: Work on distributed systems, asynchronous workflows, integrations, and the reliability challenges that come with production AI applications.
Strong professional experience developing production applications with TypeScript and Node.js.
Experience building modern web applications using React or a similar frontend framework.
Solid understanding of backend architecture, REST APIs, asynchronous programming, and service integrations.
Experience working with databases such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, or similar technologies.
Familiarity with cloud-native development, containerization, and modern deployment practices.
Understanding of software engineering fundamentals, including testing, performance, security, and maintainability.
Ability to independently own technical projects and deliver high-quality solutions.
Strong problem-solving skills and comfort working in an environment where requirements evolve.
Clear communication skills and experience collaborating with distributed engineering teams.
A product mindset and genuine interest in understanding the problems developers and customers are trying to solve.
Experience building AI-powered applications, AI agents, or LLM integrations.
Familiarity with AI frameworks, orchestration tools, or agent development patterns.
Experience with distributed systems, event-driven architectures, or microservices.
Knowledge of Dapr, Kubernetes, Docker, or cloud infrastructure.
Experience with real-time systems, messaging, or asynchronous workflows.
Contributions to open-source projects or experience working with developer-focused products.
Experience working in an early-stage or high-growth technology startup.
Diagrid's team works across Europe and North America.
Our India team’s day typically starts around 12:00 PM IST, with afternoons overlapping Europe and evenings overlapping the US. You’ll need to be available for a core US overlap window of 8:30 PM to 12:00 AM IST; outside that, you can structure your day flexibly.
Build at the intersection of AI and distributed systems. Work on real engineering challenges involved in making AI agents reliable, secure, and production-ready.
Make a meaningful impact. Join a growing engineering team where your ideas, technical decisions, and contributions directly influence the products we build.
Own what you build. Take responsibility for features end-to-end, from initial design through production and continuous improvement.
Work with experienced engineers. Collaborate with a globally distributed team building infrastructure for the next generation of software.
Help shape what's next. Be part of an ambitious company working at the forefront of cloud-native and AI application development.
