About the role

As a Sales Manager - Sponsorship & Commercial Partnerships at GRID, you will play a key role in growing the commercial value of our esports tournaments and broadcasts. You will be responsible for identifying, developing, and closing sponsorship opportunities across GRID-owned tournaments and those delivered in partnership with leading esports organizations and brands.

A key focus will be on developing relationships with betting operators, media companies, and other relevant commercial partners, creating sponsorship propositions that deliver meaningful value to both the partner and GRID. You will have the opportunity to work across a diverse range of tournament properties, audiences, and markets, with significant scope to develop new revenue opportunities.

You will also work closely with external sales agencies and broadcast partners, helping to develop and maximize additional commercial opportunities, including community broadcast sales, media partnerships, and other forms of broadcast monetization.

This is a highly commercial, externally focused role where you will have the opportunity to shape how GRID monetizes its growing portfolio of esports content and tournament IP.

What you will do 

• Identify and develop new sponsorship opportunities across GRID-owned and partner esports tournaments

• Build and manage relationships with betting operators, media companies, brands and other potential commercial partners

• Develop compelling sponsorship propositions and commercial packages tailored to prospective partners

• Own the sales process from prospecting and initial conversations through negotiation and closing

• Create and maintain a strong pipeline of sponsorship opportunities and deliver against commercial revenue targets

• Work with internal teams to understand tournament audiences, content, broadcasts and available commercial inventory

• Identify new ways to monetize GRID's tournament broadcasts and esports audiences

• Manage relationships with third-party sales agencies and support them in maximizing commercial opportunities

• Explore and develop opportunities around community broadcasts, media partnerships and other distribution channels

• Collaborate with partners to ensure sponsorship activations deliver value and achieve agreed objectives

• Monitor the esports and media landscape to identify emerging commercial opportunities, trends and potential partners

Your skills will include

• Strong experience in sponsorship sales, commercial partnerships, media sales or a closely related field

• A proven ability to identify, develop and close new business opportunities

• Strong understanding of sponsorship and commercialization within esports, sports, betting or media

• Existing relationships with relevant brands, betting operators, media companies or other potential sponsors would be highly valuable

• Excellent communication, presentation and negotiation skills

• A commercial mindset with the ability to understand a partner's objectives and translate them into compelling sponsorship opportunities

• Comfortable developing relationships with senior stakeholders and decision-makers

• Highly proactive and entrepreneurial, with the ability to identify opportunities rather than waiting for them to come to you

• Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple commercial opportunities simultaneously

• Comfortable working in a fast-moving international environment

• Genuine interest in esports, gaming, media and the evolving ways audiences consume content
