Senior Software Engineer (C++/C#)

At Nutrient, we're revolutionizing how the world works with documents. Our tools transform static files into intelligent, secure workflows, empowering businesses to innovate faster and smarter. Trusted by thousands of organizations across 80 countries, including Fortune 500 companies and public sector leaders, our platform supports nearly a billion end users globally in industries where documents aren't just files, they're mission-critical.

We’re looking for a Senior Software Engineer who likes making things work and keeping them working. You’ll join the Native team, which builds the core document technology behind our .NET SDK, Java SDK and Python SDK. The same code powers Web SDK, Document Engine, AI Document Processor and Document Web Services, so when something breaks in it, every product and customer feels it.

Your focus is keeping a large, mature C# and C++ codebase reliable. You’ll take customer-reported issues and regressions, find the root cause, and ship a fix quickly without breaking anything else. You’ll often work in code you didn’t write, so you learn it on your own and leave it cleaner than you found it.

We’re an AI-first company: we use coding agents like Claude Code or Codex every day, and we expect you to as well.

• Investigate customer-reported bugs and regressions down to the root cause, capture each one in a failing test, and ship fixes that hold
• Maintain a large C# and C++ codebase across Windows, Linux and macOS, keeping builds, tests and releases green
• Turn recurring problems into tests, tooling or small refactors so they don’t come back
• Work with Support and other teams to reproduce hard issues and unblock customers fast
• Review teammates’ changes with an eye for correctness and side effects

• You've solved hard problems in production C# or C++, including memory, threading and performance issues
• You're an AI-native engineer: coding agents like Claude Code or Codex are the major part of how you work, and you drive them, not the other way around
• Rigor and a test-driven approach: you write a failing test that reproduces the bug before you fix it, and check for side effects
• Strong problem solving in unfamiliar code, and the ability to learn a new area quickly on your own
• Speed of execution: you close issues fast and keep several moving at once without losing track
• Clear written communication in an async team, with customers and during incidents: precise bug analyses, pull request descriptions and status updates customers can trust
• Bonus: experience with document formats (PDF, TIFF, Office), imaging, OCR. Data Extraction

At Nutrient, we’re not just hiring for skills. We’re hiring for mindset. The people who thrive here are:

• Collaborators: You work openly, listen actively, and put team success first.
• Hungry Learners: Rapid learning fuels your progress and career growth.
• Curious Thinkers: You dig into the ‘why,’ valuing understanding over simply being right.
• Self-Starters: You take action without waiting for direction, turning obstacles into opportunities.
• Owners: You take responsibility for outcomes and always look for ways to improve what's in your control.
• Doers: You're energized by progress and motivated to create meaningful impact.

At Nutrient, we build tools that reshape how businesses and developers work with documents. Our culture is centered on continuous growth and collaboration. Every team member has room to learn, innovate, and drive meaningful impact.

• Fully remote and async-first: minimal meetings, strong writing culture, and the independence to manage your own work.
• Mission-critical product: Nutrient’s platform is trusted by 15%+ of the Global 500 across 80+ countries.
• Strong growth trajectory: having more than doubled revenue over the past three years, backed by Insight Partners.
