Field Marketing Manager, West

Obsidian Security is a global leader in cyber security protecting the SaaS and non-human identity layer modern enterprises run on — from Salesforce and Snowflake to the AI agents now deployed inside them. The Obsidian Security platform gives unified visibility into every human and machine identity, app, and integration across their SaaS estate, detects identity-based and supply chain attacks in real time, and enforces least-privilege access before it's exploited. Trusted by major Fortune 500 companies T-Mobile, Workday, Snowflake, and S&P Global, Obsidian ranked No. 95 on the 2025 Deloitte Technology Fast 500™, growing nearly 1000% from 2021–2024 — helping CISOs turn an unmonitored attack surface into one they can govern with confidence. Obsidian has also been recognized by Forbes as America's Best Startup Employers in 2026.

In August 2026, Obsidian raised $85 million in Series D financing led by Crescent Cove Advisors, with participation from existing investors including Greylock Partners, Menlo Ventures, Norwest Venture Partners, IVP, Wing Ventures, and GV — pushing Obsidian's valuation to $1.1 billion, crossing into unicorn status. Obsidian is using the funding to deepen its R&D in agentic AI security and extend its platform as the standard for governing what AI agents can access and do inside third-party applications.

With global momentum, a growing partner ecosystem including SentinelOne, Databricks, and Google Cloud, and fresh capital from its Series D behind it, Obsidian is scaling rapidly toward long-term growth and IPO readiness.

About the Role:

Obsidian Security is seeking a Field Marketing Manager to lead the strategy and execution of marketing activities across the West. We're looking for a passionate person who builds strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, understands how to drive early-stage pipeline, and builds programs that accelerate sales cycles and close business. You will work closely with the Enterprise and Commercial sales teams to build strategic campaigns for their ideal target customers.

We're looking for a strategic marketer with a strong track record of building and executing field marketing programs, and the ability to work in true partnership with sales — someone who can manage and nurture those relationships with a firm-but-fair approach, serving as a trusted advisor who can navigate competing priorities while keeping the regional business on track. You will develop a deep understanding of our product, our buyer personas, our target accounts, partners, customer advocates, and the value Obsidian brings to our customers and community — deep enough that you can think critically about how content and field programs align to the campaigns in flight. This high-visibility, high-impact role partners closely with the broader marketing, sales, and business development teams to drive awareness, demand, pipeline, and bookings.

The position will be remote-based and report to the Global Director - Field & Partner Marketing.

What you will do:

• Own and manage the field marketing relationship with your regional sales teams — be firm but fair, nurture those relationships over time, and navigate competing asks while advocating for what will actually move the business.
• Build and execute a proactive regional events strategy, planning 6–9 months in advance. Regional venues and sponsorships fill up quickly — you'll stay ahead of the calendar rather than reacting to it.
• Ensure every field activity ladders up to the marketing campaigns in flight. Happy hours and regional events are great, but you'll work closely with the campaigns team to make sure field programs are strategically aligned with current campaign themes, content, and messaging — not standalone moments.
• Develop a baseline understanding of our product and what we do, so you can think through where content and field marketing intersect and where the campaign alignment opportunities are.
• Build regional communities of customers and prospects — stay close to customers, deepen relationships, and use those communities to accelerate pipeline.
• Develop customer relationships to source customer speakers for regional and national events, and feed customer stories back to the marketing team so they can be developed into case studies and advocacy content.
• Report out not just on individual events, but on the health of your regional business at a high level — partnering with your RVPs to deliver that view together.
• Track, measure, and share the impact of every program, experiment, and failure (they happen!).
• Manage overall budget and spend to deliver a significant return on the $, while also capturing the anecdotes and engagements that we know close deals.
• Partner with sales leadership on territory planning, and ensure field marketing contributes productively to the quarterly business reviews of the sales teams you support.
• Be an advocate for the sales department and help the rest of the marketing department understand their priorities.
• Work closely with our partnerships team to build strong co-marketing relationships with our Technology and System Integrator partners.
• Leverage data to make intelligent, informed recommendations, decisions, and forecasts regarding our demand generation strategies, target account plans, and paid investments.
• Drive new levels of cross-channel and integrated marketing and ensure our marketing activities are aligned and planned well in advance.

What we are looking for:

• 5+ years of relevant Field and/or Partner Marketing experience. You've had an interesting career to date — you've worked for established companies and scrappy startups. You know what great looks like.
• 5–7 years of working in the B2B SaaS space.
• Experience working with and supporting international sales teams.
• Ability to develop close, trusting relationships with sales — firm but fair — as well as collaborate effectively with marketing and product. You know how to be a partner to sales, not just a service function.
• A strategic planner: you think 6–9 months ahead, understand how field programs connect to broader campaigns, and build toward long-term regional goals rather than one-off events.
• Experience building regional customer communities and developing customer relationships into speakers, references, and stories.
• You are outcome-driven, analytical, customer-first, and have a track record of executing creative, impactful field marketing programs for executive and practitioner audiences.
• You have a proven track record of working collaboratively with prospects, customers, sales, marketing, and the exec team to impact early and late stage pipeline.
• Comfortable reporting on the business, not just the event — you can partner with sales leadership (RVPs) to present a high-level view of your regional business.
• You set a high bar in everything you and your team do — quality, creativity, execution, productivity, and of course balance.
• You're extremely detail-oriented and organized, and able to meet deadlines.
• Experience supporting both direct sales and channel sales teams.
• A sense of humor, willingness to be your authentic self, and a deep belief in being human-first is a big plus.
