What You'll Do
- Own sales commission calculations: Interpret variable compensation plans, calculate monthly, quarterly, and annual commissions, and partner with Accounting to ensure accurate reporting.
- Track key SaaS financial metrics: Support monthly reporting and analysis of Annual Recurring Revenue (ARR), including changes in revenue, customer retention, and other subscription-based business metrics.
- Support financial reporting: Help prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for leadership and investors.
- Contribute to budgeting and forecasting: Assist with annual operating plans, financial forecasts, budget-versus-actual analysis, and headcount reporting.
- Improve financial processes: Identify opportunities to streamline commission calculations, enhance financial models, and improve reporting accuracy and efficiency.
- Collaborate across teams: Partner with Finance, Accounting, and Revenue Operations to maintain reliable financial data and support business needs.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or a related field.
- 2+ years of relevant experience in finance, accounting, sales compensation, or financial analysis.
- Hands-on experience calculating and managing sales commissions or variable compensation, including interpreting commission plans and translating plan terms into accurate calculations.
- Strong Excel skills, including the ability to work with complex data, perform calculations, and maintain financial models.
- Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to identify and resolve discrepancies.
- Ability to manage recurring deadlines and work effectively within monthly and quarterly financial reporting cycles.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders.
Nice to Have
- Experience working in a SaaS or subscription-based software company.
- Familiarity with SaaS financial metrics such as ARR, gross revenue retention, and net revenue retention.
- Experience supporting budgeting, forecasting, or financial planning activities.
- Understanding of financial statements, including how the income statement, balance sheet, and cash flow statement relate to one another.
- Experience with sales commission management platforms, particularly Everstage.
- Familiarity with financial planning software, Salesforce, or other financial reporting tools.
