Manager of Accounting

The U.S. mortgage market is a $14 trillion pillar of the economy — and much of it still runs on fax machines, overnight shipping, and manual workflows. Snapdocs is changing that. Our platform currently powers 20% of all real estate closings in the country, and we’re just getting started.

We design workflow software and AI-driven automation that connects lenders, settlement teams, notaries, and investors — eliminating friction, reducing risk, and delivering a faster, simpler closing for every borrower. Our customers range from the largest mortgage lenders to independent title companies. They trust us because we solve real operational pain with empathy, rigor, and reliability.

We’re backed by Sequoia, Y Combinator, and F-Prime, and we’re building for the long term.

Snapdocs automates the home mortgage experience by connecting the people, processes, and technology behind the transaction. This role keeps revenue accounting accurate while improving the work behind billing, invoicing, and cash application.

You'll lead the order-to-cash accounting work across multiple revenue streams. You'll own billing, accounts receivable, cash application, and revenue accounting while coaching the team that runs the day-to-day work.

• Lead the order-to-cash cycle across transaction-based revenue streams, from billing setup through cash application and reconciliation.

• Keep invoice, cash application, and revenue recognition processes accurate, complete, and supported by clear control points.

• Apply U.S. GAAP revenue recognition judgment to transaction activity, and explain decisions to auditors and business partners.

• Make routine revenue accounting decisions independently, and escalate to the Controller when judgment calls for it.

• Coach and develop the accounting team. Set expectations, review work, and help each person build accounting knowledge.

• Work with Customer Success, Sales, Legal, and Finance to resolve billing questions and explain how process choices affect customers and reporting.

• Find manual work to remove, test automation with controls, and keep human review where accounting judgment calls for it.

• Set team priorities with the Corporate Controller, document decisions, and raise risks early.

• Active CPA license.

• Accounting management or team-lead experience, including coaching, review, and clear performance expectations.

• Strong technical accounting knowledge, including revenue recognition under U.S. GAAP.

• End-to-end ownership of billing, accounts receivable, cash application, or order-to-cash workflows.

• Experience with transaction-based billing, usage-based revenue, or another model where activity drives invoicing and recognition.

• A record of improving accounting processes while keeping controls, accuracy, and audit support intact.

• Comfort making routine decisions independently, with clear reasoning behind the call.

• Clear communication with Customer Success, Sales, Legal, and Finance, including when resolving billing issues or competing priorities.

AI proficiency is a requirement at Snapdocs. In accounting, that means using AI in repeatable workflows to review transaction data, route exceptions, or prepare reconciliations, with human review on accounting judgments.

You can explain what the workflow checks, where it can fail, and how you verify its output before it changes the books or customer billing.
