Position Overview

This is not a transactional HR role.

We’re looking for an experienced HR professional who can step into complex environments, quickly assess what’s broken (or missing), and deliver real, lasting solutions. You’ll operate as a strategic partner and hands-on operator, someone who brings both insight and execution to elevate how organizations manage, develop and engage their team members.

You’ll partner directly with business leaders across multiple states—both on-site and remotely—to solve problems, strengthen operations, and drive meaningful organizational improvement.

Key Responsibilities

• Diagnose HR gaps across compliance, structure, and leadership effectiveness
  • Deliver both strategic guidance and hands-on execution
  • Lead and support critical initiatives across the organization to drive growth
• Navigate ambiguity and stabilize environments that need structure and direction
• Analyze data to drive decisions for the organization
• Flex your schedule based on client needs

Qualifications (Required)

• 7–10 years of progressive HR experience with strong business judgment
• Bachelor’s degree required
• Experience in healthcare or veterinary care strongly preferred
• Proven ability to advise leadership and manage complex employee relations issues
• Ability to move seamlessly between strategy and execution without losing momentum
• High adaptability—you can walk into any environment and add value quickly
• Strong Microsoft Office skills and ability to leverage AI tools (Copilot, ChatGPT, etc.) to work smarter and faster

Special Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:

• Must possess exceptional attention to detail and deadlines.
• Must problem solve independently on a daily basis. Sound and consistent judgment is essential perform the essential functions of the position.
• Must possess excellent and mature interpersonal skills to deal with a group of diverse clients from different countries, backgrounds, socioeconomic status, educational background, etc.
• Must be an outstanding team player.
• Must remain calm and focused under stressful situations.
• Must be able to adapt to an extremely dynamic work environment as priorities change.
• Must be able to anticipate change as well as adapt professionally.
• Must possess and continually develop interpersonal skills and professional development.
• Must be able to represent the organization positively at all times.
• Must have ability to travel monthly to PetVet Care Centers locations within the US and headquarters in Westport, CT.
