Who We Are

Gecko Alliance is a manufacturer and distributor of electronic control systems for the spa industry. Since 1989, we've worked closely with our customers, from design through production, to build customized and innovative technology solutions, including control systems, keypads, pumps, and accessories.

We're headquartered in Quebec, Canada, and work hand-in-hand with our team in Guangzhou, China. This role sits right at that intersection, connecting our Canadian engineering group with our operations in China.

The Role

We're looking for an Electronic Engineer based in Guangzhou to support the design, testing, and quality of our electronic control systems, working in close, daily collaboration with our engineering team in Quebec.

This is a great fit for an early-career engineer who is bilingual in Mandarin Chinese and English, and who is based in China or currently living abroad and looking to move back to China for this opportunity. You'll be the technical bridge between two teams, two languages, and two ways of working, and you'll have real ownership from day one.

What You'll Do

• Support the design, testing, and troubleshooting of electronic control systems, keypads, and related components manufactured in China.
• Act as the on-the-ground technical liaison between our Quebec engineering team and our Chinese suppliers and factories, translating requirements clearly in both English and Mandarin.
• Take part in factory visits and production line reviews to make sure everything meets Gecko's specifications.
• Help with component sourcing, supplier evaluation, and technical documentation.
• Coordinate with colleagues across time zones in Quebec and Guangzhou to keep projects moving.
• Support root-cause analysis and continuous improvement work on product quality.

What You Bring

• A bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a related field.
• 0–3 years of experience in electronic design, testing, or manufacturing support — recent graduates are welcome to apply.
• Fluency in both Mandarin Chinese and English, spoken and written. This is required, since the role bridges our teams in China and Canada.
• You're based in China, or you're currently abroad and planning to relocate back to China for this role.
• Familiarity with PCB design, embedded electronics, or control systems is a plus.
• You're comfortable working with colleagues across cultures and time zones, and you communicate clearly and directly.

Location

Based at Gecko's office in Guangzhou, Guangdong Province, China, with regular virtual collaboration with our Quebec, Canada team and our Mexico team.  International and domestic travels to business sites in Canada, Mexico and supplier and factory sites within China.
