Accountabilities:
The Senior Backend Developer will be responsible for designing, developing, and improving backend solutions while ensuring scalability, reliability, and adherence to engineering best practices. Develop and implement high-quality backend solutions using Java and/or Kotlin. Participate actively in software architecture design and technical decision-making processes. Collaborate with development teams to identify, analyze, and solve complex technical challenges. Apply best practices in software development, including clean code, automated testing, and agile methodologies. Design and maintain scalable systems focused on performance, security, and resilience. Contribute to code reviews, technical discussions, and continuous improvement initiatives. Document technical solutions and share knowledge with team members. Act as a technical reference point, supporting engineering decisions and guiding development practices. Identify opportunities to improve processes, tools, and system reliability. Requirements: The ideal candidate has strong backend development experience, deep technical knowledge, and the ability to collaborate effectively while taking ownership of complex solutions. Technical Skills: Strong experience with Java and/or Kotlin development. Knowledge of scalable software architecture and distributed systems. Experience with microservices architectures and messaging technologies such as Kafka and RabbitMQ. Experience working with relational and distributed databases. Understanding of API security practices and resilient system design. Knowledge of resilience patterns such as Circuit Breaker. Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS and/or OCI. Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform and Ansible. Experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices. Knowledge of automated testing, including unit, integration, and load testing. Experience with observability tools such as ELK and Prometheus. Previous experience with code reviews and acting as a technical focal point. Soft Skills: Strong communication skills, with the ability to adapt communication style to different audiences. Collaborative mindset and ability to work effectively in a team environment. Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Ability to work autonomously and manage priorities effectively.
